2009 was an inconsistent year with 28 days of rain leading to a lof of Long Island Rose and Sparkling Wine production. A rainy June resulted in lower yields. This proved to be a mixed blessing however, as it made ripe fruit possible despite a relatively cool summer. The Sparkling harvest took place on time as usual proving once again an ideal wine for an inconsistent region.
